About me
I'm Jorge. A Senior UX Designer based in Chicago with 5+ years of experience designing consumer mobile apps and digital products from the ground up.
I started my career at Publicis Sapient, where I've grown from junior designer to senior over five years and three promotions, taking on increasing ownership of strategy, client relationships, and end-to-end product design. I've led design on a $22M telecom account, shipped features to hundreds of thousands of users, and most recently helped define interaction paradigms for a 0-to-1 AI-powered marketing platform — work with no prior design precedent to draw from.
My approach
I believe the best design is invisible — it gives people exactly what they need, exactly when they need it, without making them think about it. My work is grounded in behavioral design and systems thinking: understanding not just what users do, but why, and building experiences that hold up under real conditions — stress, distraction, urgency, and all.
I care deeply about clarity. Whether I'm designing a safety feature that needs to work in a crisis or restructuring a navigation system for millions of users, I'm always asking: does this make sense to someone who isn't thinking about design at all?
Outside of work
When I'm not designing, you'll find me at a concert or a game — live experiences are something I'll always make time for. I'm genuinely curious about AI, finance, and where technology is headed, and I spend more time than I'd like to admit on video games. I love being outdoors, have a soft spot for animals, and I shoot photography on the side — which probably explains why I care so much about what things look like.
What I'm looking for
I'm drawn to roles where design has a real seat at the table — products and services that touch people's lives in meaningful ways, where thoughtful UX can make a genuine difference. Ideally somewhere my interests and my work overlap a little, and where I can have a lasting impact on something people actually use.
